Beer we go
So it’s been blowing a gale through Littleport but we’ve managed not to get blown away – hopefully you haven’t either. We’ve been hunkering down in this cosy corner of Cambridgeshire and are making plans to extend the Habis family…and so it grows.
You may recollect a few weeks ago we mentioned that our Spanish restaurant would be producing its own beer. That time is beer-y close (we just can’t help those beer puns) now. From next month not only will you be able to enjoy our fab paella and tapas but also accompany it with specially chosen wines and beers – no more running over the road to the Co-Op!
In collaboration with the excellent local Mile Tree Brewery we will be selling three beers that reflect the same ethos that lies behind our food – a fusion of local and good quality ingredients producing a tantalising experience for the tastebuds.
The Fens is known for its many astounding beers brewed by some brilliant breweries and as we said we’re going to introduce a few more to this corner of the Fens next month. Our collaboration with the brewery means we will be selling handcrafted Habis beers, especially brewed for us.
The family-run brewery is overseen by Karen and Richard who was a passionate home brewer for many years but decided to turn his passion into a business. That passion has carried the business from strength to strength and Richard has developed his knowledge of beer and brewing (no, not by sitting in lots of pubs but going to actual courses) over the years since he started his brewery.
And Richard is influenced by beer styles not only from across the UK but across the globe – including Spain, we hope! The ingredients are local (obvs) and we’re thrilled at Habis to be collaborating with this fantastic little brewery that has grown up in the Fenland countryside. We’ll raise a glass to that!
As if the food wasn’t draw enough, now you’ve got even more of an excuse to swing by…laptop and latte, coffee and cake, Habis burger and beer? A natural a coupling as Morecambe and Wise or Posh and Becks…adios until next week.
