Right in the art of the Fens
We hope you all enjoyed the bank holiday weekend – in spite of the rain! Habis was very out and about serving paella at Crowning Around in Littleport where we managed to raise some money for charity and we were serving vegan paella at the vintage and vegan fair in Ely. We hope you got to see us before we sold out!
We don’t know where the sunshine has gone but you can get out of the rain and escape to our cosy corner of Cambridgeshire. Not only do we have tapas, paella, cakes and coffee, but we are displaying more art from a group of local artists.
The Riverside Arts artists, who are based at the New from Old Workshop in Little Ouse, Ely, are giving you a sneak peek at the work they will be showing at Cambridge Open Studios. The collective of eight artists will be showing their working that includes furniture, oil and watercolour paintings, stonework and ceramics, tapestries, natural sculptures and pottery. The artists are: Rick Forward, Caroline Forward, Kimberley Allen, Ditty Dokter, Jane Frost, Rick Gordon, Jeremy Peake and Diana Watts. All the artwork is for sale and the artists are open to commissions, too.
The exhibition at the workshop in Ely will be open 11am-6pm on July 13, 14, 20 and 21.
If you want to get a taste of the art as well as our food then Habis is where you need to be. There’s a lot to see – so you might have to peruse over paella or tapas!
Until next week, adios and we hope the sun comes out to play.
