Spring bank holiday is in the air
The bank holiday has sprung again! Didn’t we have one about three weeks ago? That’s possibly one of the best things about May – and the fact that Habis will be open all bank holiday weekend – so what better way to chill out than with our tapas, but we do sandwiches – and there’s always cake and coffee, of course, if tapas doesn’t take your fancy.
We hope you’ve had a chance to pop into Habis and see the art that we’ve had on display in the café. There must be something in the Fens water – there seem to be as many artists as there are fields of sugar beet!
Not only will there be tapas in this cosy corner of Cambridgeshire and art, but literally down the road there will be even more creative talent on display in the form of the Littleport Community Artists and Makers who will be welcoming you to their spring bank holiday exhibition at the Adams Heritage Centre which is located at 17 Main Street, Littleport. The former ironmongery shop was transformed into a heritage centre in 2014 and is often the centre for showcasing local artistic talent, and this weekend is no exception.
It will be open tomorrow (May 25) and Sunday and Monday, from 10am until 4pm. On display to peruse and buy will be jewellery, sculpture, paintings and textiles, among many other things.
You may recollect we told you about our latest venture – Habis beer. We’re that much closer to having it bottled and next week we’ll tell you more about it and the local brewery who we are working with to make it happen. So, cheers to that!
If you still have to work – as many of us do – then remember we have free wi-fi so whip out your laptop and we’ll whip you up a coffee. If you are lucky enough to have the whole weekend free then head over to Littleport for breakfast. Take your time, though, as we’ll be serving breakfast and brunches until midday.
We hope you give your bank holiday weekend a Spanish twist, but whatever you do we hope you have a relaxing one! Adios.
